Unit 6 complete! and 4th grade materials :)

I have finally completed unit 6 of the guided reading sheets for the short stories in the workshop book!  I am now going to offer Units 2-6 as a bundle.  I do intend to go back and create unit 1 (I didn't get the idea of these sheets until Unit 2).  I will also go back and edit the sheets for unit 2 to match the style of the other packets.

It's a new item, so it's 50% off for first 48 hours.  :)  When I finish Unit 1, you will get an email to go back and re-download the item for the update.  You can also go under 'My purchases' pages to re-download.

I also wanted to take the time to share a new friend that I've made online :)  Her name is Kelly and she has a blog over at Teaching Fourth.  She has started the reading guides for the short stories and plans to create the tri-folds as well.  She has Unit 5 complete, and they look great!

I know I have had several requests to create 4th grade items for Wonders, but since I found Kelly's, I don't think I will.  I do plan on create every other grade level!  (Let's see how long that takes me).  I plan on starting with 2nd Grade since I already have several 2nd grade items.  I plan on creating the entire bundle and offering it for a very reasonable price.

Below are some pictures of my students working on my comprehension tri-folds with a buddy.  I did this for the first time, and they LOVED it!  I walked around and helped as needed.  It was a very successful activity.  I plan on having them complete the tri-folds with partners for the rest of the year :)
Hope you all add a great week and will have a relaxing weekend :)  Also, I hope you all picked up some nice items on TPT!  I know I think I bought a little too many, but the sales were awesome!  See ya :)

Fractions, Nonfiction Text Features, and a Sale!

I took my camera to school yesterday in hopes of taking some good quality pictures, but when I went to turn it on - the battery was dead!  SO, I just took some pics with my phone :)  I will hopefully take better quality pics later.

We started our chapter on Geometry this week, but I had to pull out some fraction math games for stations.  We just finished fractions, but I want to keep them fresh on the topic.  Some still need some extra practice, so the games I took out will be a big help.

Students working on one of my Roll, cover, fractions game.  They really enjoyed it!  and hey need practice drawing the fractions.

You can find the above game at my TPT store :)

I try to do math stations at least 3 time a week.  We have three rotations (teacher, computer, math workseet/game).  They last for about 20 minutes each.

For computer time, the students go to or  I tell them what website to go to.  It is usually IXL and they are told to work on a list of skills that they are weak on.  They have a binder that lists the skills they are to complete.

We also reviewed nonfiction text features and their purpose.  First we completed one page of our Navigating Nonfiction book.  We placed a sheet protector on the page and did a close read with dry erase markers.

We then made a little tab book using our Scholastic News.  The tab books are made with 2 sheets of paper - no copies needed!  We look for captions, maps, charts, diagrams, and label.  The students glued an example on each page and wrote why each nonfiction text feature is important.  They also enjoyed this a lot :)

And that was my official first 'real' classroom post :)  I hope to continue posting more.  I have something fun planned to do with my students, and I'd love to share with you.

Almost forgot, TPT is having a 3 Million Strong Sale!  I will be participating, and my items will be on sale Thursday and Friday this week :)  Enjoy!
Thanks to Rachel for the banner :)

Winner! and McGraw Hill Wonders COMPLETE BUNDLE :)

Hi everyone :) The Rafflecopter picked a winner of my past giveaway.....and....Nancy B. won! I've sent you the file by email :) Thank you for participating!

I have another giveaway. I just finished my comprehension tri-folds for McGraw Hill Wonders THIRD grade :) I have been making these tri-folds since our last reading series (Story Town) and I will continue to make them, because I can not teach without them. They keep the students and I focused. It allows them to practice going back and finding text evidence to support their answers. I usually complete these on Wednesday during our first read of the anthology story. Last year I had my students complete these (for Story Town) as a buddy station. You can use them in may ways.

Anyways, they are a new product - so they are 50% off for the first 24 hours! You can also join the giveaway below :)

I will do my best to take pictures this upcoming week and post for a 'classroom blog post' ;)

Daily Math and Grammar Morning Work! Weeks 21-25 :)

Guess what??!! I FINALLY finished the next 5 weeks of my Daily Math and Grammar Morning Work :)  I am so sorry it has taken me so long, but I am so proud of the outcome!  Please take a look below at some screen captures:

I use these sheets with my students as morning work. They complete these as soon as they unpack. It's nice to have something for them to get straight to work. I usually walk around and check as the students complete. My students are to read silently when they are finished with their morning work. During this morning work time I also allow certain students to skip morning work and go on the computer for extra help in reading. We use Ticket to Read to help with reading comprehension practice. This is the second year I use ticket to read in the classroom and I really love it!

You can view a free 1 week preview of the above 5 weeks HERE .
You can purchase the above packet (weeks 21-25) HERE.

Please note, for the first 48 hours - my new items will be 50% off! :)

I am also throwing a giveaway for my new item.  See Below:

Finally joined Blogger!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin <--- they made me add that ;)  I'm telling you, I am finally catching up after all these years!

After many years of having my own blog on WordPress (which I still LOVE), I finally made the switch over to blogger. The main reason that it took me so long was because I did not know how to fully customize the layout. I didn't want to pay for one because I enjoy making them myself. So - I FINALLY sat down and got to work. Boy does it feel good to have this accomplished! I made the header and footer using Photoshop :) I may just have to create a tutorial on how to do this, because it was a pain to go searching around the internet!! Just making my first post to say - HELLO :)
